Rugby Tens refers to a game of rugby where there are ten players per side. It's a simplified version of the game that includes some of the features of sevens, fifteens and more. This game was created to make the sport accessible to youth as well as those who are interested in learning more about it. It does, however, require players to be physically strong, agile, and fast.

Two halves of ten minutes each are allotted to teams. The game is a variation of the sevens game, relying on traditional lineouts, scrums, and mauls. The standard rules also apply. A try can be a score and a conversion can earn you one to five points, depending upon the zone. Although tens isn’t very popular in traditional rugby, many players enjoy this abbreviated version.

Today is the launch of the rugby 10s tournament. This tournament will see teams from all Super side and all over the world. The event will include the Pacific heavyweights Fiji and Pau, as well as the Panasonic Wild Knights. The Rugby Tens Championship will return in October 2022. South Africa will host the series and it will include both men's and women's teams. There will be participation of both women's and men’s academy teams.
